Mahavenues ("Mahavenues", "we", "us", "our") operates mahavenues.com, an online venue discovery portal that helps you find and enquire about banquet halls, wedding venues, restaurants, and other event spaces listed by property and venue owners across India ("Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Platform, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.
By using the Platform - browsing venues, submitting an enquiry, contacting us by WhatsApp, or listing a venue with us - you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information you provide to us
When you submit an enquiry (via the "Enquire Now" forms on the homepage, a property or venue page, or the Contact page), we collect the details you enter: your name, mobile number, email address, phone number (optional), the event type, event date, expected number of guests, and any message you include.
When you use "List Your Venue With Us", we collect the venue owner or representative's contact person name, designation, venue name and category, address (area/city/state), mobile number, email address, approximate guest capacity, and any additional details you provide.
When you message our WhatsApp number, we receive your WhatsApp phone number and the content of the messages you send us, in order to respond to your enquiry (see Section 3, "WhatsApp Communications", below).
b) Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we automatically log standard technical information when you visit the Platform, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and the page that referred you.
We also set two first-party cookies, mvVisitorId and mvSessionId, which contain randomly generated identifiers (not your name or contact details). These let us recognize repeat visits and a single browsing session, and to link an enquiry you submit back to the pages you viewed beforehand, so we can understand which venues and pages are generating interest. They do not track you across other websites.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your enquiry and connect you with the specific property or venue you asked about;
- Share your enquiry details with that property or venue's team so they can follow up with you directly;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Platform, including understanding which venues, cities, and event types are most searched for;
- Communicate with you about your enquiry by phone, email, or WhatsApp;
- Review and process venue listing requests submitted through "List Your Venue With Us";
- Detect and prevent misuse, fraud, or technical issues on the Platform;
- Meet legal, regulatory, or law-enforcement obligations where applicable.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it to send unsolicited marketing to numbers or addresses you have not given us for the purpose of an enquiry.
3. WhatsApp Communications
Mahavenues publishes one centralized WhatsApp number across the Platform for customer enquiries. When you start a WhatsApp conversation with us - whether by tapping a "Chat on WhatsApp" button on the Platform or messaging the number directly - your message is delivered to us through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform (operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.). We use the conversation to identify which property or venue you're enquiring about, capture details like your event type, date, and expected guest count, and route your enquiry to the right team.
Meta processes the content of these messages as part of providing WhatsApp Business services to us; their handling of your information is governed by WhatsApp's own Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review. We do not use your WhatsApp conversations for anything beyond responding to and recording your enquiry.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share your enquiry information with the specific property or venue you contacted us about, so their team can respond to you - this is the core purpose of the Platform. We do not share your information with unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We also work with service providers who process information on our behalf strictly to help us run the Platform, including:
- Meta / WhatsApp Business Platform - to deliver and receive WhatsApp messages, as described in Section 3;
- Google Maps - to display venue locations and directions on property and venue pages;
- Our website hosting and database providers, who store Platform data on our behalf.
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Mahavenues, our users, or the public.
5. Cookies
Besides the first-party mvVisitorId/mvSessionId cookies described in Section 1, the Platform does not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this Policy accordingly. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so may affect how enquiry attribution works but will not prevent you from browsing the Platform or submitting an enquiry.
6. Data Retention
We retain enquiry and listing-request information for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy - including following up on your enquiry and maintaining business records - after which it may be archived or deleted. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; see Section 8.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop contacting you, by emailing info@mahavenues.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time. Please note that if your enquiry has already been shared with a property or venue, you may need to separately ask them to delete their own copy of your details.
9. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for use by adults planning or enquiring about events, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
10. Third-Party Links
Property and venue pages, and our social media links, may point to third-party websites (a venue's own website, Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps, etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites, and encourage you to review their own privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after a change means you accept the revised Policy.
